Funny you should say that, i also heard the same thing and i remember a documentary i watched last year on a plane, think it was BBC. The subject was of these 'rain man' types of guys but unlike other people he had an extremeley good set of social skills so was able to explain to people a little more what he was seeing in his head, etc. Could do incredibly long maths and superb memory.

Anyway, one of the challenges he had was to learn Icelandic in a week and go on an Icelandic TV show and be interviewed. They mentioned it was one of the hardest languages in the world to learn.

He did it. Started off a bit slow but he learnt and was chatting away on Icelandic TV. Amazing
