1. I dont do "online" gaming (as such)
2. I like RPG's
So WoW was never an option for me as its a fee based game and i cannot get into this whole online "clan" gaming thing
But I have been reading a bit about Guild wars and have found that it can be a single player game (albeit online) and has no fees.
Does anybody here play it and care to give me a brief pitch as to how it works ( how do they make a profit if they dont charge like WoW) and whether I should buy it
Kind regards and thanking you

Had a brief go back in the day and it seemed quite good. Can dip in and out as you wish, fairly simple structure but you can go on some pretty massive missions with people should you wish. Decent crowd playing the game as well, or they were anyway. Dunno about the making money thing.

And they probably make a profit in the same way every other non fee-paying game does. </BLOCKQUOTE>
but if they are hosting servers and adding new material (if they do that is - see i know nothing about this) - I was wondering how they justified doing this

I used to play Guild Wars a bit, but eventually got bored of it because it is so repetative and lacks some major things that other MMORPGs lack that make it easy to use, such as an auction house - also it's instance based, so when you are out doing quests etc you will never randomly bump into other players, you only see them in towns.
Not bad though for a game that has no monthly fee, not particularly big (as in size of the gaming world, unless you buy the expansions) and fairly easy to complete in a couple of days once you know what you are doing and have some free time on your hands.
PVP in it was pretty good though if I remember correctly, if you are looking for a PVE game though then it might be worth spending a bit of money for a monthly fee game as they offer far larger areas to explore.
