The tories attitudes towards this hasn't changed. Just because they don't use such blatant terminology as they did back then does not change that fact.
It's not the first time in recent years that somebody of this stature in the Tory party has said that Enoch Powell was right. The Tory party is inherently racist. It's policies and ideologies are very much rooted in that fact. No amount of window dressing or allowing of a handful of ethnic minority memebers is going to change that.
