Was on the phone to my mum the other day saying how I was fed up with constantly being skint as a student. I can live with not going out (I get more work done), but I was living off cereal and toast which wasn't great for motivation to do work.
Get a last night saying "make sure you're in between 3 and 5 tomorrow", and what do you know there's a Tesco delivery van. She's spent a silly amount on nice food that I'd never buy (nor her for herself), and she's only a nurse so earns peanuts really.
I actually feel guilty like I've mugged an old lady or something. I'd send her some flowers if I could afford it.
So, cheers mum, you're the best. Anyone else got tales of mum being ffffffffb?
yeah she's really great. just gives so much for her children really. it can be hard to remember that when she does something that I don't disagree with, but basically she's a great person
My mum and dad used to do similar things for me at university. While I was there, both my parents fell ill for lengthy periods, so I would drive back every weekend (eight-hour round trip) and run their wine shop for them, to give them some time off, etc. Mum would always pack me off with a car load of food.
My mother may well be the bravest, strongest person I know.
She just had an operation to remove a brain tumor. She'd had an operation to remove one last August.
When told the surgeons were going to go through the same hole in her skull they'd made the last time, she said, "They might as well just put a zipper there."
