No, they've bought the format, not the scripts.
The only decent US remake of a British sitcom I've seen was their version of
Dear John with Judd Hirsch. And that was only because it was very faithful to the British version.
The nadir? Well, the US version of
Reginald Perrin had to be seen to be disbelieved..!
As for
Spaced, forget
Will And Grace, I'm sensing something more akin to
The Odd Couple with the twist that one of them is a woman. Hmph.
