The only decent US remake of a British sitcom I've seen was their version of Dear John with Judd Hirsch. And that was only because it was very faithful to the British version.

The nadir? Well, the US version of Reginald Perrin had to be seen to be disbelieved..!

As for Spaced, forget Will And Grace, I'm sensing something more akin to The Odd Couple with the twist that one of them is a woman. Hmph.

Has the original been shown on American TV before anyway ? I mean, the Office was known to people when they did remakes but if this has never been seen another reason that buying the format is a waste of money if not borrowing from scipts

Think you misunderstood the bit you bolded there. He's just referring to how different it would be if they re-made it without the main characters. He's not saying that will be the case.

The fact that the format was sold without Park even being told pretty much shows that his opinion means ****-all.
