They couldn't redo Spaced for the American market as the majority of Americans wouldn't get the style of humour (our resident Colonial cousins are ofc exempt from this generalisation).

iirc correctly, Spaced is a cult comedy that only a minority of the public in this country are aware of and actually enjoy, so whats the difference? </BLOCKQUOTE>
It's become more mainstream over the years through exposure that Pegg has got from his movies, people enjoyed them and find out what else he's done etc etc, as for enjoying them people in this country, on a whole, have a different sense of humour and understanding than that of your average American. </BLOCKQUOTE>
will you please shut up?
The average person in this country is more likely to watch and understand Birds of a Feather or My Family than they are Spaced.
The average person is generally an idiot. That happens whether you're in the US or the UK or anywhere else in the world.
Theres enough pop culture in America for them to be able to redo the show using the British version as a base for it and theres enough people in the target demographic the show is likely to target for it to be potentially a success.
There are plenty of arguments against the show being redone that are valid and coherent, yours is just plain stereotypical rubbish.
