I cant get into my computer at all because every time I try to start it up the blue screen comes up and I get the message that's in the title.
Having looked it up I get this adive:
If it's a damaged file system case then:-
1.Insert the Windows XP CD-ROM into the CD-ROM drive, and then restart the computer.
Click to select any options that are required to start the computer from the CD-ROM drive if you are prompted.
2.When the "Welcome to Setup" screen appears, press R to start the Recovery Console.
3.If you have a dual-boot or multiple-boot computer, select the installation that you must access from the Recovery Console.
4.When you are prompted, type the Administrator password. If the administrator password is blank, just press ENTER.
5.At the command prompt, type chkdsk /r , and then press ENTER.
6.At the command prompt, type exit , and then press ENTER to restart your computer.
But when I enter the XP CD I cant get anywhere because every time I try do get the computer working the same blue screen appears. I just dont undertstand what I can do.
You need to boot from the CD. So, insert the CD, and restart the machine.
If you do that and you just get the blue screen again, you may not have "boot from CD" set in the bios. If that's the case, you need to go into the bios on startup (there should be a prompt on screen when the machine first start that tells you what to press. It's often del or a function key). From there, have a look at the options, turn on "boot from cd", save and close, which should restart the machine.
I had this. My HD was basically screwed. Although after about 1 week of trying to fix it following online tutorials it worked again for 1 boot i had to ring Dell and get a new one sent out. Sorry mate.
