Default What kind of Hair Gel do you use?

bit of a strange, but different kinda thread to the usual ones i start.

basically, i'm just trying to find what gel out there would be the best at holding my hair for as long as it can, ie, whenever i use a gel, after about an hour, its like i may not have bothered. i am growing my hair longer then it was, so i want to try get a brand that will keep it held in whatever style i put it on, for a good chunk of the night. there is gels im sure that even when you take your jumper of or whatever, that your hair still stays in place.

anyone have any recommendations, i bought some stuff from boots a while back, its ok,but nothing great.

Wax>Gel.
How long are you growing it? Mousse might work better. Gel is crap because it will either dry, or isnt strong enough to really do anything.

well its a bit longer then usual, starting to come down a bit over my ears now, so its kinda that scruffy look to it.

yeah gel aint lasting long on it, was thinking perhaps wax alright but it gives your hair that greasy feel to it, even though you only just washed it, never really tought much about using a mousse though.

Yeah you want wax not gel. Something with strong hold and a matte finish so you don't look too much like 'hey girls, I've just done my hair' xsmooch

I recommend American Crew Fiber (the one with the blue label). This will hold any hair in any style all day.

Shop around and you can get it cheaper than that.

Thats about how long my hair is. It doesn't get too greasy as long as you dont shove a load on. I use Ted Baker, although ive never looked around for anything different, as ive never thought to.

Next time i buy some i will be doing though.

yeah i use the ted baker stuff as well, its the platic tubing of gel though, not styling wax.

i'm gonna keep an eye out though for the stuff the two lads mentioned, i just find i'm out and after an hour or so i'm having to put water in my hair to give it that look again, and i feel like a bit of a plonker doing this in a nightclub toilet full of folk

its growing nicely now though, i'm getting used to that scruffy look to it, can do abit more styling to my hair now.
