There are probably fail safes which can be used to remove the fuel cap if for what ever reason you can't do it the normal way as the electronics sometimes fail.

Remember that show the borrowers? You could get one of them to work for you. Pay him some buttons and a pencil, arm him with a miniture magnum (no idea where you're gonna ge that from), and ask him to chill behind the petrol cap. Next time these ****ers come, he can open fire and put a end to this petrol theift.
