Rangers, Galatasary and Benfica say hi
He didn't even do that bad a job at Blackburn. Newcastle was a blot on his copy book but how many managers can you say that about that have been at St James' park?

| Tbh I never wanted Souness, not even after he went on a pretty good run at the start of his Newcastle career. I just KNEW it wouldn't last.

yeah, but your club was and still is full of sh*t so whoever was going to manage at that time was going to fail unless being extraordinary. Sam Allardyce is having not a brilliant start. I think Souness would have a good chance of staving off relegation for Wigan.

shockingly finding myself in the position of agreeing with nelly.
souey did a good job at rangers, gala, benfica, rovers and a decent one at southampton. plus he was **** poor at liverpool which is a massive plus point.
souey ftw.

The times where Souness seems to have done poorly is when he's been tasked with actually building a side or bringing players in. When he's had a fairly decent squad he's been reasonable but not sure if he'll be working any miracles with Wigan tbh

Not surprised at all by the sacking, but as others have said, I am amazed that chairmen keep appointing such people as managers. Clubs like Wigan and Bolton have been overachieving because they have had good managers. After a while the chairmen seem to take such success for granted and think that any old Tom, Dick and Harry will be able to maintain the previous success and do the same job that the former managers did. So clueless.
