You've obviously NEVER seen Italian football. There has rarely been a 1-0 since about 1998 iirc. More goals scored last year in Serie A than in the Premiership.
| That comment had me in stitches. What planet are you on? </BLOCKQUOTE>
Did you read my comment after saying the 1-0 comment was a joke.
Serie A did have more goals last season than the premiership, so im not sure why that would make you laugh?

Don't think it's any co-incidence that we started losing games as soon as Heskey got injured and the fact is we haven't got a replacement striker who is integral to the teams tactics. Whether that's down to Hutchings or the chairman trying to do it on the cheap, is unclear.
Was unsure of Hutching's appointment, but I also think Whelan has been hasty in getting rid so soon; although the writing has been on the wall because of recent shambolic defending. Anyway, no doubt his lordship will appoint a gritty English manager (hello Stuart Pearce) to bring us back to route one football. I hope that he doesn't take us back down that road.

Daft appointment in the first place, Whelan's got what he deserved.
Wigan have some pretty decent players there - Kirkland, Scharner and Heskey are 3 in particular who could be more than useful at more established Premiership clubs. Landzaat's been gash apparently, but he's a fairly good player nonetheless.
If they get a decent manager in who can get them organised a bit better then I think there's every chance they could stay up.

| Agree whole heartedly. Whelan too hasty and as we both know he will now appoint the first person who will accept minimum wage, a rolling contract and an interfering chairman

| agreed, was it Gartside or Whelan who said their new manager would have as long as they wanted in charge? Whelan is an utter ****.

| Look at the number of Italian players in the Serie A. Then look at the number of English players in the EPL.
I think there are more talented Italians and they play a lot more games to get better over the years. </BLOCKQUOTE>
yeah last years Italian champions had what 2 or 3 Italian players?
