I love the way the police try and encourage people to go to organised events when nearly all the local events have been cancelled due to a rise in insurance costs

I was reluctantly dragged to a local one and it was surprisingly good - when it started. Had to endure 20 minutes of ear-splittingly loud Cascada-style music first though, and the world's most annoying announcer. It was nearly worth it though.

Yeah black on white violence is funny. If it was the other way round the PC brigade would be going crazy. </BLOCKQUOTE>

have I missed something here, or are you assuming that the kids Fred_the_Red mentioned are black?

Yeah, exact same here, used to go to the one in the village near me, insurance costs stopped it. The went to the lovely one in town, insurance costs stopped it.

And Ned, focus on the word "crackers".

I was making a hilarious joke with the dual meaning of cracker, where it could be a derogatory term that black people call white people.

Done nothing for bonfire night, its generally rubbish. Just sat at home, had a full bottle of advocaat (again) and will shortly be helping my housemate make her bed.
