I love the way the police try and encourage people to go to organised events when nearly all the local events have been cancelled due to a rise in insurance costs

I was reluctantly dragged to a local one and it was surprisingly good - when it started. Had to endure 20 minutes of ear-splittingly loud Cascada-style music first though, and the world's most annoying announcer. It was nearly worth it though.

| Yeah, exact same here, used to go to the one in the village near me, insurance costs stopped it. The went to the lovely one in town, insurance costs stopped it.

I was making a hilarious joke with the dual meaning of cracker, where it could be a derogatory term that black people call white people.

we went to the big 'best in the west' firework sow in kilmarnock - was pretty decent.
loved all the tunes...
themes to james bond, war of the worlds (original of course), superman and Star Wars, as well as Carl orff (Carmina Burana) and a couple of others.

Done nothing for bonfire night, its generally rubbish. Just sat at home, had a full bottle of advocaat (again) and will shortly be helping my housemate make her bed.
