If moronic managers and clubs are willing to play vastly overinflated prices for championship standard players, fair play to the selling clubs.

Just discussing this, the fee is absurd but that's the market at the moment, but I think Keane's doing something along the right lines here. Look around the Sunderland team and it doesn't strike you as the most physically assertive around. After this summer the core of their team is Nosworthy-Etuhu-Jones. Each of the three are big, strong, physical players and it's these types who will lend themselves massively to survival. Now I don't imagine for a moment that there's not players who can do these three roles better than the individuals currently there and for cheaper transfer fees but again, adapting to the country isn't necessarily something Sunderland can afford to allow in a survival season, so they'll do. I like it anyway, but I suspect I'm in the minority, and I can fully see the other arguments too.

| Valid point tbf. Sure they could have got someone else for that role though.

I agree about gordon
I can't see how signing championship players is going to really help them survive in the premiership. not saying they are bad players but really he should have got in a couple of proven top flight players.
Although saying that he may have tried but got knocked back so we probably don't know the full story.
still needs a creative midfielder.
