Im portuguese and i have my planes booked to see Manchester-Sporting on Champions League.
I looked on the web, nationalraiway.co.uk and others and couldnt make a proper reservation as follows:
27nov-around 12:00am from Gatwick to Manchester(as near as possible from Old Traford)
27nov-returning to Gatwick leaving Manchester around 7:30am
yeah Rob, there are some results from that site.
Regarding the station at Manchester, wich one should i choose for a city visit some hours before the match(and hopefully not to far away from Old Traford too).
I see:
Piccadilly is the biggest one, and probably the best if you want to look round the city centre in the afternoon. from memory i think it's a fairly easy tram ride out to Old Trafford from there - but it's a long while since I've done it.
you will also need to allow plenty of time to change in London. the Gatwick train will drop you at London Victoria - the trains to Manchester go from London Euston.
they're on the same underground line, but will still take you half an hour or so.
