I was approached by a clearly insane woman last night whilst walking down the street with a friend. She asked us our ages, and whether we noticed "negatives" in society. We both said to her that the latter was a rather vague question, sadly she thought we said big question, so then proceeded to ramble about how society is "insular", how children can't play in the streets until midnight anymore, how The Matrix and Minority Report warp children's minds and how in the near future Glasgow is going to be like "an American Ghost Town....cause people will stay in their living rooms all the time".
Anyway, she told me to look for videos about a "way of thinking for a better society" called Zeitgeist. Out of intrigue for the sheer craziness of all this I tried looking for this but not to much avail. Anyone else heard of this lunacy?
Apologis to those expecting a Smashing Pumpkins thread btw.
Zeitgeist cannot refer to current times.
It can only be used when in reference to past events.
She clearly didn't know the real terminology and so on that basis I am out.

Not true. The English use of the word Zeitgeist is basically a literal translation to 'spirit of the age'. In English, it can and is used to refer to the present.
