Worst thing i've seen in a while was a guy who decided self immolation was a good idea. He stood burning for 30 seconds in the video before anyone helped, and even then it was a fat guy pathetically wafting a blanket around him.

So for a further two minutes he burnt, until he fell down and burnt some more. Then they put him out. His charred body was still breathing, and his arms raised as he most likely couldn't move due to his chargrilled state. Then he died. Quite horrific actually.
