I don't understand why the researchers work for free any more. It's one of the biggest-selling games there is and SI and Sega are definitely taking it down the EA route of updating it a bit and shoving a new version out at the same time every year. The quality of the data is as important as the quality of the match engine to me and I don't see why those responsible aren't rewarded.

Obviously the United data last year was appalling, but they got rid of the guy and got Nick to do it instead.

Do I take it other researchers aren't putting the level of time and effort into it as Nick is?

I remember back in the old days when games were released with they were bug-free and not just based on how soon they thought they could get last year's audience to buy last year's title with a new cover and five (5) new features playable only once patch 4 came out 9 months later (just in time to buy the next year's version).

then again, I also remember load "*",1,1

press play on tape

obviously the us research was crap for 4 years but si couldn't get off their ass to sack their little crony even though they were literally alienating an entire ****ing continent by their apathy.

open your ears and listen to any gamer from any other country than england mock si for their ridiculous bias towards england and english teams.

I remember the old issues of compute! magazine that ran pages of code for games you could write yourself.
