More the green eyes and the timing. She was better in Armstrong and Miller anyway. And Green Wing was about as anarchic as Ally McBeal.

It's watchable enough when bored but the music throughout the show coupled with the endless slowdown and other pointless effects just irritates me.

the other thing is: you people only put out like 6 shows a year (at 6 episodes each)... why is it impossible to ever find an english show with any production value? I mean ffs, it's like watching a high school drama club sometimes. even if the acting's good, you can't help but notice the plants are made out of construction paper.

That's a simple economics answer in regards to Green WIng.
The UK has a smaller population, therefore the cost of advertising is less, which leads to less money being made available to make programmes.
US shows can command millions of dollars of revenue each episode, UK shows are in the hundreds of thousands.
