Title pretty much sums up a problem my laptop has, which i have only stumbled upon tonight.

My laptop will not play films. Uusally if i put a dvd in then it will start up automotically,but it doesnt seem to at the moment, and when i go to my computer it doesnt recognise there being any disc in the disc drive. The laptop makes a sound as if its trying to load the disc and play but just cant. But when i put in my FM disc all loads up fine and everything.

I'm confused can anybody offer any assistance? Would be greatly appreciated!

You need to hack into the registry and delete one of the H_KEYs or something. Go to the Microsoft technical support forums and do a search - it explains how to do it there.

Does it recognise CDs but not DVDs? If so, it may be the DVD drive is going

Is it all DVDs? as my laptop would play CDs and single layer DVDs yet would not play dual-layer.
