i guess he was prob dying, but then again, his test was similar to that of det matthews in saw 2, saying that, he ended up being chained up so there was no real way of his escaping, they just kinda left the dude lying there with a shot wound, but not dead.
it didnt explain either why the lawyer was taking part, and what the thing was strapped to his back.

Maybe because the lawyer knew the Detective was lying for the black guy, but did nothing maybe? Just a presumtion.
I don't get why the guy in the chair at the end, just got up and did nothing to help his supposed friend? He was his friend wasn't he because the woman from the FBI said he was going to help his 2 friends meaning them two in the room.
Thinking about it, so many things left randomly unanswered.

well as i said, i do think the lawyer was playing his own game, similar to in saw 1 when the orderley (ben from lost :cool was playing his own game by keeping the family hostage, he had to do it to save his own family or summat. so i think thats the case behind him, again, wasnt explained properly.
i dont get your second point though, the guy was jigsaws accomplice, so he just got up as he was testing the black dude, he failed his test, simple as. the fbi agent wouldnt have known this, in fact i cant recall her saying that, i dont think anyone else bar the black dude, and the guy holding them knew about it
actually another thing that confused me, was when she played the tape, and it siad that her partner was gonna kill an innocent guy and to watch her next move, well im just assuming that he meant that the guy would kill the guy looking for his daughter, bit of a long assumption for jigsaw to make.
the movie just find didnt explain the twist at the end as good as previous ones, i did follow it, i just thing as morto says, it left too much unanswered.
oh and i read that there is prob gonna be a saw 5 and 6

I never liked any of the saw movies, didn't frighten and me and would take a lot more than gore to get to me, just never found them interesting.
I did go to the theater for Saw IV though but during the opening scene my fiance had her face buried in my arm and then the second scene she made me leave...was her idea to see it. First 10 minutes of Saw IV got to her SO much that the movie we saw instead was...yes she made me watch Nancy Drew...now Nancy Drew is a real sickening movie.

just back from it now. Very confusing. So the whole morgue scene at the start, happened at the end. So where does that stop and it goes back in time to Riggs finding the body hanging?
I need it explained I'm afraid, I can't get my head around it.

yeah its a flashback at the end of the autopsy scene, i guess just to show us that jigsaw is indeed dead.
then the cops coming in finding the body, remember she got killed in saw 3 just before the events that followed with the doctor/husband taken in to play the game.
detective matthews was already missing a few months before this, and they explain that the body was there for 3 or 4 days, so basically, the end of saw 4 with the detective coming in at the same time as riggs, was just happening at exactly the same time as the ending of saw 3, so basically, the 2 endings of each movie are parallel.
now i dunno what they done with the detective who was locked in the room at the end, he was in with jigsaws body, so basically, was he killed when they recover the body?
and there was a message left for the cop on the tape, about the game only just beginning, so i suppose thats leaving it open for saw 5, but if he is an accomplice of jigsaws, then what does this message mean?
it did leave a lot of stuff needing explaining though.

from doing a bit of reading it seems Saw III and IV all take place at the exact same time. The morgue scene at the beginning is actually the last bit chronologically that we've seen. Hoffman is surprised there's a tape because perhaps he thought he was done with his part but now it seems he has his own game in Saw V. He also has Jeff's daughter somewhere and that's the toy he has with him and says "believe me, it's a short story".
