Even if you are "crazy"?
You are aware there's a law against crazy people making bad decision against themselves giving the doctor the right to decide for them.
Today's case is a perfect example of it imo | |

| because more people believe in god than martians, society decides what is crazy, and society is indeed crazy.
I would let people believe what ever they wanted even if they were completely and obviously nuts, and it meant they were dying for no other reason other than being crazy, because I don't think I have the right to tell anyone else what the definition of crazy is. Of course society would think that's a crazy idea.

Well quite simply you can't. The law was quite a sensible one in that day, given that as we even know now how disease can be carried in raw meat so therefore no eating of any raw meat -ie blood - makes a lot of sense.
I really can't see how they can take that, and turn it into not accepting a blood transfusion in anyway whatsoever.
Still, if thats what the woman wants it's up to her. The big problem for me in this one is like a few other have said, that euthanasia/suicide is illegal in this country therefore it seems a but hypocritical that you can effectively commit suicide by refusing a blood transfusion.
(Personally I believe in euthanasia but thats a whole other ball game.)

I'm fine with letting people do whatever they want but either you apply this logic of "people should be allowed to decide on their own" all the time or you never apply it. If the government applies it to make taking ecstasy illegal because people will harm themselves taking it then the government should also force people to accept transfusions because if they don't take it they will be harmed.
All I'm asking for is consistency basically.
And for the "more people believe in it" I completely disagree with the argument itself for a start and then the fact is wrong as well. More people are registered Flying Spaghetti Monster believers than there are Juwish people on the planet yet it is very accepted to refuse to touch a light switch on Saturday but it isn't to dress up as a pirate because your FSM god told you so.
