WTF is the idea with that? I mean if I take my phone there's no problem what so ever, but if I miss the call how am I supposed to know who had call me? Normally I think when you call someone, you want/expect them to call you back if they don't take their phone so why make it difficult for them to see who called them?

People, who have their number hidden when calling Post #2
Of of my mates is under a sort of watered-down Witness Protection, so when I got a new phone number I couldn't contact him for a week due to the fact his phone blocks all numbers except for those he's added in. (home phone).

I am a teacher and I would be the only person with my name in the local phone book. I do not want random phone calls from kids who have had a sniff of white star and start phoning me up for a laugh.
Certain people in certain jobs may need a withheld number.

Women in Brazil, or at least in my part of Brazil, believe that it is a man's responsibility to pay for phone calls. So they call, and then hang up, and you are supposed to call them back. Some women hide their numbers (for reasons that they can never explain), and then when we meet by chance demand to know why I haven't been returning their calls. Madness...

That's doubly annoying. Like the idea of them being indignant about it as well
