Crap isn't it, it took me 2 days to find out that my wifes laptop has that goddam switch.
What were they thinking? you wouldn't have a sesktop with a graphics on/off switch ffs..

Mine has that too. Don't know why you'd want wi-fi to be disabled by default.

errrm Its so you can easily turn it off to save power when running it on the battery and not using wireless.

I had this on mine too. Saw the switch, switched it, lost the internet. Thought *d'oh* and resolved never to touch it again.
Completely pointless waste of time switch imo.

It's mainly used in companies. It's a pain in the arse when machines take twice as long to log on to a wired network as it's still constantly searching for a wireless one too.
