Yeah, nah. The traffic alone makes it worse - on both Saturday and Sunday it took us 45 minutes to get from Concorde to Oxford St. That's nuts.

Well I have lived:
Sydney - 4.5 years (north shore, eastern suburbs and western suburbs);
Brisbane - 15 years
Melbourne - 5 years.
So I have a pretty fair idea of the 3 cities as a resident. Each city naturally has its positives and negatives - and a lot depends on the individual circumstances (e.g. location of friends and family etc...). I have to say, based on my own experiences - I prefer Melbourne.
Each to their own though.....

Brisbane is good for holiday destination, Sydney maybe for working people is better, due to the expensive living costs there.
Melbourne would be better for student or people who wants to live in a peaceful area :cool:

Don't move to WA, you'll never afford a house, even though you'll be raking it in as a plumber. We have the best weather though.

Western Australia is out of the picture as Ive heard from a few other plumbers bad experience's.
Would like to move back to Melbourne.
Thought the missus would like Brissy for the parks and that.Not sure what work would be like up there though.
I think from stories Ive heard ,Sydney would be best workwise.

Link me the shipping firm please. Is about three times cheaper than anything I've looked at for getting my stuff to Canada.

Plumbers would be pretty much in demand everywhere, so wherever you decide to move to would be good for your business.
Don't bother bringing the car with you, as you will end up losing out on too much money with taxes, import costs and also resale value.
Also, your television won't work in Australia, so don't bother with that. You can get a good bed for less money over here aswell, soyou might want to consider not bringing that.
I used a friend to help me move, so got a discount, but I doubt he would do a move from Ireland. You would be fine using any of the bigger moving companies, as that way you can be sure that you will be covered with insurance and that will put your mind at ease for sure.
