My favourite was when a young man came to our table in a restaurant and placed a card on it. I had a read:
"I am a Romanian refugee, and have _ brothers and sisters to support. Please give money"
The card was pre-printed and he'd biro'ed in the number '6' for his deserving brothers and sisters. I burnt the card in front of him, then stood up as he began getting humpy and he thought better of it.
As I understand it Romanians with a legal work contract and an address are not being deported, am I right? That's the problem with such a collective punishment though - I doubt it'll be practical for the good ones to stay either.
