After all the tickets allocated to everton were sold, fans started buying directly from the club, only to have them deemed void by uefa who have objected to more everton fans being in the ground despite the fact that the extra tickets sold was in a rea directly next to that already housing the the blues fans. bbc article on tickets
Everton manager David Moyes:
"Nuremberg had a really good season last year. The season might not have started as well as they would have liked. We need to watch out for some individual players and also need to be aware of last season, which was very good.
"The German national team or club sides tend to do very well in the competitions so we have to give any German team the respect it deserves. Nurnberg will be very excited to start their campaign. It will be a hard task."
Nurnberg coach Hans Meyer:
He said: "Everton have a very strong side and they are in great shape. We will not watch them too much on tape because we already have a lot of respect for them. We'll speak about their strengths as they don't have any weaknesses.
"I know for a fact that we would not finish fifth or sixth in the Premier League even if we were injury-free all season long. The financial difference is huge. They have already had a good team and then invested 25 million Euros.
"It's like Bayern Munich and us - there is a huge difference but that does not mean we are unable to beat them on a certain day."

Nurnberg have not won at home in Europe since 1963.
