I first moved out at 16.

When I was 20, I was living in a foreign country.

I then spent four years at University on the other side of Britain.

I then moved into my father's place - 'cos it was a lot bigger, nicer, cheaper and better located than anything I could afford.

I was out by 19 and dont plan on moving back for good ever, as much as it breaks my poor mothers heart.

still got loads of stuff at my parents house (at 22), but in effect i've been living away from "home" since going to uni. this year i'm renting a house all year round which feels like moving out properly, as opposed to going back to london outside of term time

wouldn't have a problem with living at my parents again if i was looking for somewhere to rent, as i probably will be again next august-ish. if i do a masters i'll live at home for a year, would probably be unaffordable otherwise.

Have lived both at home and away from home intermittently for the last 10 years. Currently living at home while i save to buy my own place as i'd rather the minimal rent i pay here than the rent i'd pay somewhere else while i save.

With house prices the way they are these days, if somebody wishes to own their own home as opposed to renting, then i don't see the problem with them living at home for longer until they're able to actually afford to do that.

it doesn't seem logical to me to move out for the sake of it and to rent a place, imo renting is just wasting money, i would (and am) much rather stay at home and save up for a deposit on a house then struggle to live by renting.
