Default Steam: Possible to transfer games to a new computer?
I have a few games on my steam account, I am planning on getting a new computer in the new year and was wondering if I will be able to play the games I have purchased on my new pc?

I will be getting rid of my current one, if I log in to my existing steam account on my new pc, will it allow me to download the games again?

Yeh, but first try backing up you files and copying them accross via DVD/pendrive/whatever. Save you having to download them again.

Think you just right click the game and click back-up files in you 'My games' menu.
