Ok, my predictions for the season.
1st - Ferrari
Almost unbeatable
imo. Unless something goes badly wrong somewhere, should be theirs. One of the best driver line-ups out there, best car for the 2nd half of the end of the year, suited to the bridgestone tyres... the list goes on.
2nd - McLaren
After a frankly awful year, they should really move forward this year, settling into a comfortable 2nd behind Ferrari, with Alonso pulling the odd win out of nowhere a few times.
3rd - Renault
With the top drivers 3 turning into a top 2, someone had to lose out. Fisi just isn't no1 driver material, as seen by the massive gap between him and Alonso over the past 2 seasons. His 8 podiums (6 of them 3rd places) to Alonso's 29 during that time says it all. Kovalainen to have surpassed Fisi at most tracks by the middle of the season.
4th - Honda
Just can't see them moving anywhere, I just don't see any improvement. Will keep alive the fight with Renault for 3rd until the last race though. They have 2 solid drivers, and will produce a good car, but I just don't think the team will be upto the task. They made some glaring errors last year, and I think they will just repeat them. Still seem to amateurish to be a top team.
5th - BMW
Had a good year, and I think they will build on it, getting several podiums. Building up for the big challenge next year, when they could jump into the top 3.
6th - Red Bull
Ultimately disappointing season after all the hype. Neither driver to particularly shine, getting quite a few points finishes, with Webber easily beating DC by the end of the year. DC to pack it in after the season.
7th - Williams
Big step up from last year, with the car actually finishing races. Though, tbf, they couldn't really get worse. Rosberg to shine in a several races, Wurz being a general disappointment.
8th - Toyota
Yet another utterly pointless season from the utterly pointless team. Being beaten by a team on a downward spiral themselves with the same engine and being massively beaten by Honda convinces them to either pack it in or totally shuffle the pack. I think the former, the time for shuffling has been and gone really.
9th - Toro Rosso
Hard to call, depends on which car they get really, as long as it's not last years red bull car, I could see them getting a handful of points. Expect quite a few driver errors during the season though.
10th - Super Aguri
With the backing of Honda, I can see the team getting it's first point this year. Done the near impossible to be turned from a joke to a lower-midfield runner in less than a year. Expect to see the return of silly Sato crashes, with Davidson about equaling him on pure pace.
11th - Spyker
Even with the brillience of Gascoyne and Albers, I can see them having a tricky season this year, falling behind Super Aguri. Albers to shine yet again, and get a better drive next year, possibly at Williams.
