Scotland is waiting to find out if its bid to host the 2014 Commonwealth Games has been successful.
Glasgow and Abuja in Nigeria have a final opportunity to win votes during a 30-minute presentation on Friday.
All 71 Commonwealth member countries will then vote at 1230 GMT in Colombo, Sri Lanka, with the result announced a short time later.
Bid director Derek Casey said the road to Sri Lanka had been an "incredible journey" around the Commonwealth.
"We are in the very last lap of the race and racing towards the finish line," he said.
"We are determined to leave nothing to chance and to bring home the gold medal for Glasgow and for Scotland."
First Minister Alex Salmond said: "We have been working to present what we believe is a first-class bid for Glasgow and for Scotland.
"Obviously the competition is intense, but it is a friendly competition.
"We have got great respect for our rival bid, but we are very confident about Glasgow and Scotland's prospects."
General Yakubu Gowon, who is leading the Abuja bid, said: "It is going to be a very fair fight and we will give it our best shot."
A majority of 36 is needed to secure the games.
The delegates will take part in a secret vote, marking their choice on a ballot paper.
The votes will then be counted and the result will be placed in an envelope.
Mike Fennell, president of the Commonwealth Games Federation, will open the envelope and announce the winning city.
The announcement will be broadcast by BBC Scotland on television, radio and online.
In Glasgow, the announcement will be broadcast on large screens at The Fruitmarket and at some of the sports venues where the 2014 games would be held.
Went to a couple of events when Manchester had the Commonwealth games and was quite good.
Should bring a fair bit of money to lots of Scotland.
Don't know how much the committee deciding will be swayed by a recently held Commonwealth Games having taken part in the UK and London getting the 2012 Olympics.
One thing is for sure, if Glasgow get the thumbs up, the logo they have surely can't be as bad as the 2012 Olympics logo.
'mon Glasgae! 'mon introduction of bare knuckle fighting on the Barras being introduced to the games.

Glasgow bid to host The 2014 Commonwealth Games - announcement due 1245 GMT 9th Nov. Sponsored by ginger and deep fried pizza Post #2
Being a pround Mancunian (even though I don't live there anymore), I went to a few events at the 2002 games. It was great - good crowds etc.
Wandering around the city centre at the time was even better - people from all over the world in the pubs, bars, cafes and restaurants, or sitting having picnics in front of the big screens around the squares that were showing various events for those without tickets.
It was great.
I have no bias, but although Glasgow is seemingly the better technical bid, I think Abuja will get it...
