Weird thing with iTunes and my iPod, I have only a 2GB Nano, mainly for Podcasts anyway. In iTunes i added a load of music, way more than the 2GB i have on the Nano. Then when i plugged the iPod in i added selected songs, etc to get up to 2GB.
When i play the iPod i can select from the songs i added,m as you would expect but bizaarely when i 'shuffle' songs it seems to shuffle amongst the entire selection of songs i added even though they could not possibly be held on the iPod even though they are in iTunes.
Obviously, not connected the computer when i do this shuffling.
Yes, there's an option somewhere to change that. You can even do it on individual songs (like if a song has a long silence at the end you can make iTune skip it automatically)

is that normal ? Seems a bit strange to me ...
Can you actually listen to songs that aren't on your ipod?
If you can't you probably just copied the playlist and the ipod is trying to play the song but skips it when it doesn't find it. At least that's a possibility I guess
Yeah, but only when i select 'shuffle songs'. They play like normal. It plays from the entire list i added to iTunes and not only the few songs per artist i added to fill up the 2GB.
Cinema Forge used to download YouTube videos and convert them for iPod but it stopped working. I haven't found another program that does it but you can. Or alternatively you can download them in iPod format on google video.
For the first question: Edit > Preferences > Playback > Uncheck Crossfade Playback
