irresponsible parenting. are you really giving your daughter a fair start in life?
I'd say so. By the time she's 15 she'll be an independant person who likes and plays honest music, instead of standing on corners with a phone blaring out some sh.. hiphop.

My little heavy metal chick wants to play the guitar - opinions/advise needed Post #24
Just obtained a bass guitar, anyone have any tips on good tunes for a beginner to learn? I'm currently trawling tab sites and playing anything that appeals and is also in my itunes.
My parents tried encouraging me to play piano when I was a kid but I refused because it was 'gay' wish they'd forced me into it.

How come? You like hiphop blaring phone carrying chavs?

Our little girl is quite in love with music, notably rock/metal. She likes Amon Amarth and loves Doro
Off lately, she's been playing the air guitar. The other day, there were guitars for sale in a magazine, she said she wants one.
Seeing as learning to play an instrument was the one big omission in my education, I would definitely be willing to let her have a shot at learning to play the guitar.
Can an almost 7-year old learn that already? Do they need a special kiddie guitar?
What say you?
bloody good taste in music, Amon Amarth are awesome.

go to pmt (if you're still in birmingham) and try out some squier guitars or some cheap yamahas. I'll go along with you if you want a second opinion on anything
you'd need an amp as well, iirc they don't do that many cheap practice amps at pmt (except the marshall ones, which aren't very good) but you can probably get good ones elsewhere or online
I'm not in Birmingham now, on placement
Was looking at Schechter, any good? </BLOCKQUOTE>
schecter are pretty awesome from what I've heard. what kind of price were you looking at? </BLOCKQUOTE>
Saw a Schechter Blackhawk for £170 on soundcontrol and the Omen for £200 I think, no more than that really.
Heard good things from a few people about the Schecters so far.
