Default Worth getting a Quad Core Processor right now?

Bearing in my mind i buy a computer every 3 years at the earliest is it worth me getting a computer with a quad core processor.

Been looking at computers and in my price range (£700-£800) it seems to be a choice between these three (although i don't know alot about this sort of thing so there are probably others).

E6550 Dual Core Processor(2.33GHz,4MB Cache,1333MHz)

And

E6750 Dual Core Processor(2.66GHz,4MB Cache,1333MHz)

And

Q6600 Quad Core Processor(2.4GHz,8MB Cache,1066MHz)

Looking on the mesh site most of the computers have quad core processors in them so maybe that is the way to go but i'm not sure.

Q6600 is the best bang for your buck future proof processor out there imo.
