According to a report issued today

Higher than average Teen Pregnancies, Alcoholism amongst men, education failure, unemployment and family breakdown.

OK actually the report is more on how the success of Manchester as a city has left a huge number of people out in the cold.
It's also a survey conducted by (on behalf of?) Iain Duncan Smith, so read into that what you will.

For those with money and live in a nice area Manchester is fab.

It's those on low incomes, poor housing, crap areas that I spare a thought for.
