I can't really think of any 'nice' areas within the Manchester boundary tbh apart from the city centre ofc, the best places would be Chorlton and Didsbury but only because there's not many kids there due to the students, who are generally very well off postgrads, and those that stay there after uni. I'd much rather live in say Urmston than either of those anyway.

| Few other nice areas, Withington, Victoria Park and bits of Levenshulme & Whalley Range. Admittedly some rough patches but nice places to live, just not as expensive or trendy as places like Didsbury.

wouldn't class them as nice at all, they're ok, but they aren't exactly any better than Stretford where I'm from. Would much prefer to live in Urmston, Sale or Altrincham than any of them tbh.
