trouble with the Metrolink is it's so easy to get away with not paying. you get the odd team of inspectors at some stops in peak hours but otherwise there are no ticket checks at all. night trams would need some sort of inspector otherwise no-one would pay and it just wouldn't be a viable proposition.

I've had them on quite a lot at midnight actually when I was using it over the summer, but yeah they could do with a proper ticketing system, though most people do pay anyway.

plus they need to introduce weekly tickets imo, not sure if they have them, but if they do they are probably too expensive.

Also how come you can get a day ticket from Stretford for £2.50, (a return to Alty is £2.80 ffs), yet it's £3.60 in town.

Why not put these revolving doors that only turn one way like they have in Paris/NYC/Madrid?
Then you just have to pay.
I saw a guy jump over it in Philadelphia a couple of years ago and jump on the train. Some security guy saw it on camera and stopped the train (keeping the doors closed) until the cops came over and picked up the guy

yeah, don't think they really do any weekly tickets or anything. certainly not in peak time anyway.

I never use to bother buying them but they always have guards at Bury when i'm going to FC now
