Liverpool doing the right thing and realising signing 14 year olds is just damn wrong. Man Utd actually make me sick.

| So a 14 year old shouldn't be allowed the benefit of better facilities and staff because he is signed up with a club and shouldn't be allowed to move until a set age? What if a young player's parent has to relocate for work, should they be prohibited from playing for a more local side? Or what if he just wanted to stop playing at 14 then play again at 16?

How does this work exactly? Did Cofie have a contract with Burnley? Isn't that akin to child labour?
I've got a feeling that it would be only really legal and morally OK if there would be no talk of money at all until a person reaches 16, everything else is an attempt to dodge child labour rules, no?

You can apply for work permits to work when you are under 16. Certain restrictions placed on how much and where you can work etc. Any football club wouldnt have too much bother getting a permit.

And also, is it wrong to scout kids from their amature clubs until they are 16?
I dont think so, just a step up for the child. Same as this. I dont see any difference to United scouting him in his local league or in the league he is now.

best talent we have ever had at the club apparently, there was a chance of him playing in the first team within the year. also the £250k is apparently an underestimate. not that it reflects what he may be like in future but i guess until that time it is a good deal.
by all accounts it was decided to let him go to united as they were the "most professional" in their approach for him as opposed to liverpool who were bordering on tapping up him and his agent. ALLEGEDLY
