Give this PC the once over before i buy it please.
I'm looking for a PC to last me the next 5 years. These are the specs i am looking at.
Will it last 5 years and still be able to run most games to a good standard? Is the graphics card any good etc?
thinking of getting it on finance, buy now pay in 12 months so i can pay it off in Overtime shifts rather than take a chunk out of the bank balance.
Will also shop around to see who can provide the same thing for the cheapest.
Anyway from PC Specialist costing £1800:

£900 now and £900 over the next 5 years will surely end up with a better pc in the end?

Five years is a long time in computing, but that's a great pc. However with that spec a 20 inch monitor is really a waste. Get a 24 incher and enjoy games at a resolution console gamers can only dream of.

Yes. Overkill now and in 2 years time when it starts to feel the strain we will be with faster, cheaper, larger memory, 8 core processors and much faster graphics cards.

Also, I'm not sure whether getting the 64 bit version of Vista is a good idea.

Cheers lads. Will go for the bigger monitor.
I know nothing about graphics cards but is that seen as a good one?
And whats wrong with 64 bit Vista?

It's the best you can get, but you are paying a huge overhead for extra performance and it'll be vastly outperformed in a couple of months by the new GPUs.
Look for a 1680x1050 20" or 22" monitor, 512mb 8800GT graphics card, 2 GB of RAM and you don't need super fast memory or branded memory, consider dropping the second opticla drive and getting a smaller 500GB hard drive, you can always add another for £60 or whatever they cost now and I'm sure it's far more cost effective and it's more sensible (hard drives fail). Can probably drop the x-fi unless it's important to you.

The 8800 ultra is the best card there is atm.
I remember reading that 64 bit operating systems are more trouble than they're worth. Leave em to businesses.
