Should imagine they would be able to negotiate round it tbf, as would be in both the producers and Hasbro's interests to have him in the film.

Not especially. This film already shown they don't give much of a toss about detail, relation to the cartoons etc, so they'll probably not bother.

Not sure who exactly owns the copyright, but Hot Rod hasn't been used in the comics/cartoons for a long time, they used Hot Shot in the cartoons and Hot Rodimus for the toys

Exactly, why would they bother paying for something when they could just use another name thats been used for years

Can we persuade every movie studio bar the Sony ones to back HD-DVD and not blu-ray then please?
