It looks good? No it fraking doesnt. It looks rubbish. It seems that Bay has decided that the story to tell here is how the Humans deal with transforming robot lifeforms fighting each other on the planet.

If it's anything like the early script that was leak, it's going to suck big time. It'll be alright as some run of the mill Summer Blockbuster action movie, but i want something with real substance.

Optimus prime dies in the movie, I remember crying my little eyes out whenever I watched it during my youth
Ultra Magnus Sheds His Armour

How did it happen? I remember a fight with the "white Optimus" who was inside Ultra Magnus, but Ultra Magnus is present at the scene you linked to. </BLOCKQUOTE>

The White Prime wasn't inside Ultra Magnus.

The White Prime was Prime when he returned from the dead at the end of Generation 1. He was coated in a special alloy so he would not be attacked by spores. </BLOCKQUOTE>

Thats true although if you have read the dreamwave comics they finally revealed Ultra Magnus' true form in a fight with Shockwave

See, maybe i'm basing it on my skim reading of the early script, but that really was awful.

The robots just seemed so one dimensional it was ridiculous. There was really no substance to them whatsoever, just came across as very cold. The magic of transformers as a kid was the Human sides to them. It's what made them work.

I really don't think Bay gets it. I hope i'm wrong. I really, really, really hope i'm wrong. If i am i'll be happy to say so, but if it's just another mindless action flick with robots that disguise themselves as Cars and stuff, then they really haven't got it.

Well I still must be seeing the wrong one because I've watched the link San posted as well as the only other trailer on there and neither have the transforming sound from the cartoon.

Unless all you youngsters mean some second generation of cartoon I'm unaware of.
