Do a bit of research on Tesco and USDAW and see why Tesco are only too happy to assist them

Anyway, you don't have to opt out of USDAW, you should only be signed-up if you do it.

If this does go to a disciplinary meeting there will be two managers present and you will be allowed a representative.

It just sounds like he's cocked things up and is trying to intimidate you into covering his back tbh. It'll blow over.

There IS only one answer.

I refuse to work <STRIKE>weekends</STRIKE> overtime - full stop. And CL games are enough to warrant a half day holiday.

Then just last week I mentioned it to him and he said that contracts are rarely printed out let alone signed.
Absolute tosh. If I don't have a contract in my hand, I don't start work.

If there anything like Asda they dont care about employees.

My Dad is on call Christmas Day (security manager there) and get £50 for being on call 24 hours. He then gets £30 for the first 3 hours if he gets called out. Its a joke. He has to do it yet cant drink or fully enjoy himself as everytime the phone rings he thinks its work.

If Asda had to pay a firm to cover security, it would cost a hell of alot more

Ok spoke to another manager this afternoon. I explained things as fully as I could in about 2 minutes. He then advised me to come in this evening at the usual time. As though I was unaware of what had been happening, he also said he would pass this on to my line manager.

Now I went to sleep this afternoon and have woken up without and missed calls etc etc from my line manager so i assume im working this evening. Worst case im going down there to 'go through offical procedure' then probably sent home till tuesday.

Anyway Ill keep you all updated.

Thanks

Don't take the lack of missed calls to mean anything. Even if you don't turn up, Tesco managers are instructed not to phone people because it could be considered harassment.

Update.

Went in as planned. Spoke to my line manager in an office for abnout ten minutes. No shouting but it did get quite heated. The good thing that came out of it was that he admitted that procedure is to give someone written details of a change. I was then sent home till tuesday. He said I would have a meeting when I arrive to sort out what will happen next. I'm going to use tonight to research where i stand and also to search for a new job.
