they really are simply itching for something as damn exciting as 9/11. Which, above anything made for just about perfect TV.

It's a war out there James, it's a war.
People could die (they probably won't, but that doesn't make "good" news).

9/11 was great TV though, that bit when they made the towers fall, awesome special effects.
