Anybody else think that Sarah might not be dead? I'm not sure how they would fake it exactly, but it doesn't feel very Prison Break like to just kill her off in the background.

Are we honestly expected to believe that Sara is actually dead? Killing off their only bargaining chip, in the blind hope that Linc would not pass on the information to Michael seems like an extraordinary leap of faith by a company that have shown tremendous amounts of forward planning in the past. To suddenly assume that they would be so brash and thoughtless of consequences is either very lazy writing, or an assumption that the viewers are utter morons. I half expected it to be Sucre's head, would have made much more sense.

Yeah, I don't believe that she's really dead - the relationship between her and Michael is one of the pillars of the show, it's a strange way to end it - you'd think she'd die heroically somehow or something.
The only thing I can't figure out is how they would've faked it. Linc knows her and was examining it up close, you'd think they'd spot a fake. Unless it was a twin sister or something bizarre. I await to see how they spin it.
Definitely the best ep of the season so far, not saying much though

They have sacked the actress iirc so it makes more sense to me than bringing in another actress for a permanent role. I think she's gone as barring helping Michael out or whatever, her story had pretty much run it's course.

They've not sacked her. She was knocked up during season two, and gave birth during the break. Due to return for filming, supposedly she called up Fox just days before shooting was due to begin (scripts had already been completed) to tell them that she was loving being a mum so much, she wasn't going back for an indefinite amount of time. She claims she's not quitting showbiz, just taking a break to spend time with her kid. Certainly possible she could come back at some point.
Like I said, if she is dead, it's extremely lazy shitty writing, we are talking Bionic Woman standards here. Sara is the only reason Michael is doing what the company wants. They have no way of knowing if Linc would tell him. All seems a bit... wishful thinking to me.

Linc really can't afford to tell Michael the truth about Sara, he knows Michael is only doing what he's doing for her and can't risk the life of his son
I think its pretty clear that the actress wasn't coming back and this is pretty much all they could do, its going to be intersting to see where they go after Michael breaks out (obviously we all expect him to), the relationship between Linc and Michael will surely have to break down

‘I didn’t have the choice. I’m sad, but it’s just show business’, the actress says of the firing. “I was shocked”.
Wayne Callies says she didn’t see it coming and expected to continue on the series.
“I’ll just say this. I am sorry to let down the viewers. I have loved the support Sara Tancredi got from them. And though she was a victim of her own destiny, I liked how she made decisions by herself. But the way things ended up couldn’t have been foreseen. Again, I was deceived by the decision.”
The producers told her ‘It’s too bad. I loved working with you and good luck, we hope we can work together again.’
| Those quotes weren't accurate then?

They do seem to conflict with these: Quote:
TVG: What was your understanding as to why she didn’t want to come back? It seems strange that she refused to return in any capacity. Doesn’t it seem strange to you?
MO: It looked like a pretty good deal on the face of it. We definitely came up in money. Thirteen episodes would have allowed the character to have a proper exit. We were willing to push the start date back [to accommodate her maternity leave], which would have meant her coming in [around] Episode 10, but that wasn’t accepted. So then we offered to come up [to Canada] before she gave birth and film at her house. Pretty good money and she wouldn’t even have to leave her house. That wasn’t accepted. So it was a little curious to me and to others why she was taking such a hard stance. [Maybe] she felt that she was made certain assurances about being part of the show this season. And in fairness to her, those assurances were given, because she was such a valuable member of the show…. Also, she’s up [in Canada]. She’s comfortable. She’s starting a family. Maybe she didn’t want to have to fly down and have to do this stuff. Or maybe she felt like she wanted to be part of the show [full time], not just half the season. Perhaps she felt a little jilted. Our [original] plan was to definitely keep her for [all of] Season 3, but after a couple of times of getting it kicked back from the network, we had to come up with a new idea and that necessitated her character being killed.
Sarah Wayne Callies response via her spokesperson:
“As hard as we all tried, the Prison Break powers that be and I were unable to find a way to meet both the needs of the story and the needs of my family. We parted wishing each other well. I had a wonderful time working with the creative team and have a world of respect for all of them; they took great care of Dr. Sara. I’m also enormously grateful to the fans. They’ve been so gracious and supportive, and I hope they continue to enjoy the show.”
