Something I neglected to mention was that my granny showed the ticket to 2 nearby wardens who they knew by sight, and neither of them recognized the signature. So it could be a new bloke who decided to stick to the book exactly.
They said that it was a violation, but definatley had appeal grounds and if it was made clear that it was just a misunderstanding etc we could well have the fine lifted. I just hope so.

He's left handed.
So he can't write, but he has one of those special handles fitted to his steering wheel to make it easier to drive one handed. About 23 years of no-claims bonus he has too, so it doesn't seem to have stopped him driving well either.

FFS, I hate traffic wardens, and I don't even drive.
You hear so many stories of these people being such petty cnuts and tbh the one who did this to your Grandad is an absolute Dick.
Just like you say, wrong way round ffs, they could clearly still see it was a disabled parking ticket I presume? so what is the problem? Probably walked off grinning to himself at a pathetically earned wad of money tbh
***** all of them

Of course. It's got his photo on, DOB, address etc, and says "REGISTERED DISABLED" at the bottom.
The other side is the same it just has a symbol of a man in a wheelchair and different information on it.

Like valid from and expiry dates etc. That's probably why the ticket was issued.
I've still got my mum's old card, but it's absolutely no good to anybody.
