Such a great year, Jimmy White just basically aiming every ball anywhere on the table at the 9 ball
1996 was when Ronnie O'Sullivan played iirc, again another great year. He turned up late, didn't know the rules and beat Earl Strickland in his opening match, I remember him keep having to ask the ref which ball he was going for

I would have loved to have watched it back then, it sounded like such a laugh. I think 2002 was the first tournament I watched, never had Sky before then.

He was fuming, I think he saw it as disrespect that Ronnie didn't turn up for Day 1 and didn't know the rules.
It also didn't help that i'm pretty sure he whitewashed him 5-0 |
