I've only had about 3 hours sleep due to a bit of a cold, so I check out the oddness that is European Satellite TV. Stick it on RAI Uno and there's this "Ready Steady Cook" style show, but it seems to be going on for like 2 hours.
Halfway through, there's a phone-in competition, where a woman had to guess which tray a plate of pasta was under to win 53k Euros. She guessed correctly and the show sort of.. turned into chaos. The presenter proceeded to sing a weird song and have a dance, the camera would zoom in and out on this plate of pasta and it didn't just go on for a few seconds - it was a full blown song! 3 minutes worth!
That's not the end of it - the show before that featured a phone-in "guess the weight of a Kiwi fruit" compo. Eh?!
If you've ever seen the Chanel 9 sketches on The Fast Show, that's what it was like.
Has anyone else here seen any bizarre gameshows where you didn't QUITE know what was going on?
