My girlfriend bought the Playboy game for PC (I don't know why) and she is currently trying to install it on her laptop.
During setup it asks to change the CD to CD2, which contains the file "data3.cab" which is fine, insert the disc and installation continues.
After a little while the disc drive starts making screechy noises and then claims that data3.cab isn't there, and also mentions a "cyclic redundancy error", which is something I have no idea what it is.
So yeah, could it be the fact it's an older game trying to run on Vista? We can't even get to the troubleshooting thing because it's in the manual which is rather handily, part of the installation.
Vista has a new "Games Viability Checker" That scans games for their playability. It has correctly detected that it is a pile of ***** and to protect your gfs laptop it has refused to install
