Probably better than the paella on tyneside.
I was about 12 when I went to Barcelona, don't really remember much other than the Nou Camp and the market we went to. It was huge and there were stalls lining all the streets. Could find pretty much anything in the world there I'm sure of it.

No, I have to admit the best Paella I have had was in Brittany.
I'm a bit limited because I can't eat bread though, see. And I eat steak at home all the time.

| next time you're there, try to find some "caldoso". basically soupy rice with chicken or seafood. this is barcelona's specialty. in puerto rico, they call it asopao. http://www.foodsfromspainnews.com/FF...ler_image2.jpg |

la boqueria. everyone goes there to shop, but the smart money is on the immaculately fresh tapas you can get there.

Those tourist bus things are good, as you can just hop on and off at any of the sights and are pretty good value for money.
The market is also a good place to go and see. You are fairly safe having a drink etc on teh Ramblas, but watch out for pick pockets and the ladies of the night.

That's fairly close to where we stayed. Bit of a maze, but your best landmarks are the Station, which is on the main coast road, and the Ramblas.
