I gave my opinion, but not seeing this cinema thing either. What are people scared of? Buying a ticket for 1? The room is dark and when people talk you get annoyed, so best off going in a quiet time on your own so you can pick a good seat and enjoy the film.
Also, for people who go out on their own, if I'm out with my mates and someone is stood at the side of me at the bar, I will talk to them whether alone or not, so plenty of people don't have a problem with it.
It's not often you see it though and it does have a stigma to it, but so does eating breakfast, or even in a fast food restaurant. Their own fault if people have a problem with it.

Club: Don't like clubs unless they're full of my friends, and even then I've got a small problem with most clubs. If I'm drinking with friends I like to be able to talk to them too.
Gig: I'll happily go along on my own if I really want to see whoever's playing.
Football: Defo
Pub: I've gone for the odd contemplative afternoon pint with a newspaper before, but not the same thing. Also gone out gambling on there being people I know in the pub, but also not the same thing.
Cinema: No, there's only one way to go the cinema. Go with a woman, smuggle in some booze, stay in the multiplex to see more than one film, while getting trolleyed, with the woman.

I'd say the most stigma-filled thing I've done alone is go to restaurants, actually. But then, there's one at the end of my street and it's more a way of avoiding cooking while feeling a bit decadent.

i've often sat at the pub bar on my own, nursing a pint, looking up with a sad look on myu face when ever someone passes by hoping that the women will see the desperate look in my eye and come over and talk.
it never happens though.
WHY? WHY?
i've been to music festivals on my own because there's things to do. watch the music etc.
same thing for football matches. every ones watching the match.

Club: No way, I generally try and avoid the ones in my town even when with mates, good clubs are great, rubbish clubs are about the most hellish way to spend time I can think of
Gig: Yea do it fairly regularly, if none of my mates want to watch a band and I do i'm not gonna miss out, the inbetween acts bits can get fairl boring but sometimes get chatting to other people and once the music starts who cares, very often get seperated from mates so whats the difference, iPod for the trip back and queue, you're away.
Football: Haven't ever done it largely as I always tickets with another mate but can't see why I wouldn't if I had to.
Pub: Probably not really, i've sat in the bar at my work alone to watch a game but i'm surrounded by workmates and they'll have a sit down with me when they're on their breaks etc so it's all good.
Cinema: Yea, sitting in the dark watching a film absolutely no need to be with mates, if my local cinema was nearer i'd actually do it all the time, I pay £11 a month and get unlimited films so i'd be there every day off and before night shifts if I could get there easier.

| Yeah, I don't think i could do that tbh.
I've been to the cinema and footy on my own before though, and even had a quick pint if I've had time to kill. Although if I didn't have a paper/book/something else to read I'm not sure I'd be able to go and sit on my own in a pub without feeling very self conscious...

Don't really see why people are including shopping in these lists, are there actually people around who'll only go shopping with other people and never alone? |

Have been to the local curry house on my own a few times actually. They do a rather good £7 deal and there have been times I've gone there after having a few pints with mates after work. Don't think anything of it really.

I wouldnt go out myself, but ive been to the pub myself.
England/France rugby game was on before I started work so I sat in a pub and watched it and got chatting to a few folk in there, scots and english, I thought nothing of it.
