Watched Newcastle in the Anglo-Italian cup back in '92. Can't remember specifically but I'd be amazed if the away teams brought many if any fans at all to St James'.

Ever been a football match with no away fans but an allocation been made? Post #14
Few years ago, Telstar - FC Emmen. There were 5 Emmensupporters (I was one of them).
Still, it can be worse :o
3 Seasons back, FC Eindhoven - FC Emmen, tuesday evening, Dutch Cup 2nd round. No one really gives a flying f$@k about the Dutch Cup. Attendances was around 500, including 4 Emmensupporters (yes, I was one of them).
Sometimes the opponents of FC Emmen bring a few supporters to our homegames. On some evenings we invite them awaystand into our supportersbar to drink a few beers together, mostly depending on the result and the rivalry between us and them.

This might give you an idea about the away support in the Dutch league.
In the first division it's even worse. I saw:
Fortuna-Cambuur with 19 away fans.
MVV-Volendam recently with 8 Volendam fans. Eindhoven-Veendam with 9 awayfans.
Eindhoven-Cambuur with 15 away fans.
Haarlem-Eindhoven with 2 away fans
Recently De Graafschap visited Roda in the cup and brought 16 fans.

Actually came in here to say that, my sister was at uni in Lincoln at the time and that was one of the few games she went to. Her mate said he could actually count them individually
